Code of Conduct

Safety is our number one priority at Weber Middle School. An environment which allows for optimum learning is one where mutual respect and appropriate behaviors are practiced. In order to accomplish these goals, classroom and school rules have been developed to proactively create a safe school. The Weber Middle School community includes students, teachers, support staff, administrators, and parents. The responsibilities of the community are to: 1) Demonstrate honesty, respect, and tolerance in dealing with others; 2) Assume responsibility for behavior and learning; and 3) Encourage regular and prompt attendance at school.

Weber Middle School has adopted the following rules against bullying: 1) We will not bully others; 2) We will try to help students who are bullied; 3) We will try to include students who are left out; and 4) We will tell an adult at school and at home if we know that somebody is being bullied.

We fully expect that all members of the school community will assume the responsibility to respect people, property, and school rules. For those who do not show respect, disciplinary action will result.

Committees of Weber staff, parents, and students have reviewed and revised our disciplinary procedures. The outcome of this effort is reflected in our updated building-level Code of Conduct for Weber (“Weber Code”). Please take time to discuss this document with your children.

In addition, please be sure to familiarize yourself with, and discuss with your children, the Port Washington School District’s overarching Code of Conduct (“District Code”), since the Weber Code is designed to supplement, not supplant, the District Code. In the event of a conflict or inconsistency between the District Code and the Weber Code, the District Code shall prevail and take precedence over the Weber Code for all purposes.

Copies of the District Code are available online. Go to the 5000 series.
