Holiday Volleyball Tournament

• You must register your team with 5 players.
•  All players are responsible for any missed work on the day of the tournament
• Bring a bagged lunch to eat in bleachers when you are not participating
• Come to school prepared in Physical Education attire.  Locker rooms will be locked.  
• Only 16 teams will be allowed per grade
• There will be 6th, 7th and 8th grade brackets
• This is a single elimination tournament

1. Boundaries
2. Wall is out
3. Bleachers are out
4. Ceiling is out
5. Project adventure and basketball backboards is out
6. Ball lands on line = in

 

1. Rotation
2. Net is 12oclock =rotate clockwise

 

III.           Serving

1. Underhand or overhand serve from back right corner of court
2. Stand behind black line
3. Everyone must serve
4. Announce score before each serve
5. Ball touches net and goes over = good

 

1. Scoring
2. Point awarded for every error
3. Rally scoring
4. Announce score before each serve

 

1. Violations
2. Player may not hit the ball 2x in a row
3. Only one handed hits (“spiking”) in the front row

 

1. Playing the Game
2. 3 hits max per side, ball goes over on the 3rd hit
3. Serve must be returned with a forearm pass
4. First contact must always be a forearm pass
5. Follow 3’Rs (Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness)
6. Good Sportsmanship
7. Rock, paper scissor to settle any disagreements
