World Language Week Showcase
World Language Week, a nationwide celebration which originated in 1957 and was endorsed by President Eisenhower, (March 2-8, 2025) has concluded, and it was a fantastic celebration of languages and cultures at our school. This year's theme was LANGUAGES TAKE YOU PLACES.
Staff and students participated in a Spirit Week with creative daily themes that highlighted the importance of language learning by wearing colors or symbols of each language: Monday was Spanish, Tuesday was French, Wednesday was Italian, Thursday was Latin and Friday we celebrated the other languages and cultures that make up the fabric of Weber while also featuring Afrikaans spoken by Weber's 7th grade student.
Morning announcements featured songs from and the pledge recited by students in each language. The week was a great success, fostering enthusiasm and global connections through fun and educational activities. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this week so memorable! We look forward to next year.
