WEBER TECH ED:
● Video Game Development (Miscioscia): Students work collaboratively to produce video games of their own design. Using Scratch web-based coding, they develop custom block coded programs to meet the criteria given on the rubric by the teacher.
● Multi-media Production (Stepanek): Students work in groups developing scripts and produce a short film. They use web-based video editing software to add green screen effects, graphics, and audio mixing.
● Structural Engineering (Czachor): Students work in pairs, designing and building the most efficient bridge. They test their bridges to see which bridge in the class is the most efficient.
● Engineering Design (Shampanier): Students learn graphic and technical engineering design for the 3D-Printer and Vinyl Cutter.
8TH GRADE
● Architecture (Miscioscia): Students design a single-family home, progressing from initial sketches to a fully developed digital model. Topics include floor plans, interior and exterior design, kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, and landscaping.
● Robotics (Stepanek): Students learn to code and control robots, working both autonomously and with a controller. The unit ends in a competition where student robots perform specific tasks to demonstrate their skills.
● Mass Production Plaques (Czachor): Students create custom designs using web-based editing tools, then engrave them onto wood plaques with a laser cutter. Parts are mass-produced using various tools in the woodshop.
● Air-Powered Cars (Shampanier): Students design, build, and race air-powered cars, applying lessons on aerodynamics, woodshop techniques, 3D printing, and painting. The unit concludes with a final race to test their creations.
