Incentive and 3 Strike Rule

We have established a three strike rule balanced by incentives to change behavior and meet one of the 3 R's of PE, RESOURCEFULNESS (respect and responsibility are the other 2.)

Students can earn "INCENTIVE credit" by helping others, managing equipment, getting to class extra early, assisting with warm ups, taking responsibility for a team, and showing leadership.  These are just a few examples of resourcefulness.

If students accrue 3 of the below infractions the result is detention.  It is our hope that a student who nears  2 mistakes will try to earn incentive credit in one of the above ways to avoid detention.

The 3 Strike Rule:
For Example...
3 lates to class = 1 after school detention (an existing school rule for homebase).

3 unprepared to class = 1 after school detention (this greatly affects the students performance and learning as they can not participate)
3 times forgetting locker combination or other locker related problems = 1 afterschool detention (this often delays class for everyone and the student is not demonstrating the R =responsibility).
