Weber Middle School Physical Education emphasizes maximum activity for all students, while developing refined motor skills, modified sport skills and fitness levels.  The structured Project Adventure curriculum begins here, building upon the need for students to work together, meet new friends, understand differences, develop communication and develop team building skills.
Age appropriate instruction at the middle school includes modified team sports and skill development in volleyball, soccer, basketball, floor/field hockey, ultimate frisbee,softball, track and field, aerobics and conditioning, wrestling, and select racquet sports.
The project adventure curriculum builds upon an introduction of icebreaker and initiative activities for students in grade 6 and progresses to belay school and climbing in grade 7. The 6th grade program also emphasizes a review of basic motor and manipulative skills and lead-up games for their application.  Fitness education, testing and goal setting utilizing the computerized test "Fitnessgram" is started.  Students learn a great deal about fitness development and goal setting.
Adapted physical education
 This program is provided for students with special needs which can best be accommodated through more individualized instruction. Individual student assessment is used to determine skill and fitness levels in order to prescribe appropriate activities and instruction.The program consists of developmental activities, games, sports, rhythms, fitness development, and activities suited to the interests and needs of the students.  Enrollment in this course is provided through the Committee on Special Education and/or recommendation by professional middle school staff.  Commissioners regulations further indicate that any medical limitation from a physician must indicate the area of the program in which the student can participate.  All students, despite any medical limitations, will have a program designed for them to meet the NYS standards.
